Is “Current CIA practice” still important to know?
Hi! Not a material related question, but just want to get some assurance that I am putting the right effort to the right material. I feel that knowing the “current CIA practice” is not that important anymore, as we are already shifting to the IFRS. Is this the right understanding? Asking because I feel difficult to understand what is going on with the CIA practices with terms like PfAD MfADs, when they are longer part of the syllabus anymore.

Tbh the only thing that you really need to know is that RAs were once PfADs, and that discounting used to be done with your own return on assets. That's about it. That said, I think knowing the difference between IFRS4 and IFRS17 was probably more important earlier in the transition and is probably not really relevant any more, if at all
