Calculations in the Excel Exam Format

In the exam, will the formulas we enter in the cells be sufficient to show our calculations or will we have to type out the formula names and descriptions to get credit?

To illustrate, in the example below would we get credit by writing out only the cell with the answer 6.9571 or would we have to write out the other lines?

  • I believe you would get credit WITHOUT writing out the actual formula as long as your calculation is correct. It's a little safer to write out the formula however because if your calculation is wrong you might still get partial credit. I know it takes longer to write out the formula so you'll have to use your judgement whether or not to do so based on your time management plan.

  • Just to add here you don't actually have to write the formula to obtain full marks! But writing our general formulas will give you credit if you make a calculation error or linked to the wrong cell

  • Thank you both for your answers! I am a bit new to this so this is helpful to know
