The wiki mentions that because the % sign is explicitly added for ROE and investment yield, that I shouldn't include % in the calculated value. Is this something that the points may get deducted in the exam if I include % for some values that have explicit % showing?

I think it really depends on your examiner. Some may be more lenient, some won't
I wonder if was even intentional that they did that, but it's probably good to keep it in mind.
