No, you don't need to study the removed cases, but the CAS sometimes flip-flops and it looks like the case "Tomec v Economical" is going back on the syllabus for 2023-Fall. We don't know for certain yet because the official syllabus has not been released but there is a memo on the CAS website saying that case is coming back.
In any case, we will update the the BattleActs content in a timely manner so you don't need to worry about what's on the syllabus and what isn't. We figure that out for you.
