I often see the term "Alberta GRID" appeared from time to time. Working in auto pricing myself, I honestly don't know what they are exactly. Can someone enlight me?

If you are in Auto pricing but not for the Alberta region, it's not really surprising that you haven't seen it before in work. Basically, it serves as a cap on your mandatory premium coverage (Accident Benefits, Third Party Liability). For example, if under your own rating structure TPL premium is calculated as $1000 while it is calculated as $800 through the grid, the insured would be charged $800.
