  • I'm having trouble understanding what exactly is a risk factor. For example, Would the 1.25 in this eq formula be a "risk factor"? Should I be memorizing this value? and another example, would I need to know the 1.25% for interest rate risk?
  • Can we expect these VaR-related questions on the actual exam? I don't think I encountered any when I was doing the sample IFRS questions from the CAS website, so I'm a bit surprised to see them on the BA Practice exam

  • Are 1. return on assets and 2. return on revenue metrics that we should know or are they outdated?
  • thank you, I will use 2019-2021. Sorry, yes this is from the FCT reading, I wasn't sure how to recategorize my post. Thanks!
  • To be clear on this question. If the insured received only $525 initially. Then the additional recovery amount is $50,000 - 525 - 1000 = $48,475, correct? Assuming the claim amount was at least $48,475 or larger
  • For part #19.(c), my understanding was that onerous contracts cannot be grouped with any other contracts (which I got from #18.(b)). How come for this example, we are grouping onerous and non-onerous contracts together?

  • as a follow-up to this question, are the thresholds listed important to know? For example, the answer key mentions ROE as having a "Minimum 5.4%" threshold. If so, which reading would I be able to find the minimum 5.4% information?
  • just read in the comments on another post that it is no longer on the syllabus. will use the handy "search" feature next time
